Debenhams customers ward off beach competition with super-sized towels

Debenhams has revealed that customers favour super-sized beach towels as they attempt to stake a sizeable claim to the shores that millions flock to in the summer months.


The new towels are up to 65 percent larger than normal and are also bold and bright in order to ward off beach competition.


Debenhams spokeswoman Michelle Dowdall has said: "We're calling it 'The Churchill Factor'. British tourists have never forgotten his war time rallying call."
