Sainsbury’s Click & Collect service goes nationwide

Sainsbury’s is set to continue the roll out of its Click & Collect service as it looks to increase its non-food sales.

Currently available in 300 of the supermarket giant’s stores, the service allows customers to order non-food items via the supermarket’s website, to later pick up from their nearest chosen store. The system is similar to Argos’ Check & Reserve and comes just weeks after Sainsbury’s announced it plans to increase non-food sales by 45 percent for 2020.

Click & Collect will be available in 400 stores by early June and more than 800 by Christmas, and will be including some convenience stores.

Over a third of our non-food online sales come through Click & Collect and this exciting expansion will make it easier to take advantage of the service,” convenience director Helen Buck said, adding that general merchandise is a key area of focus for the retailer.
