Listening to all the coverage, I am torn between hilarious laughter -- e.g. NY awaiting a Tsunami wave -- and disbelieve about the amount of panic.
News sound more like an impending Apocalypse with everyone crying "The sky is falling" with images of "2012" or "The day after tomorrow" and other Roland Emmerich movies coming to mind.
More about the "HURRIQUAKE week"

Milton M. Holland, one of sixteen black soldiers to receive the Medal of Honor during the Civil War, was born in either Carthage or Austin, Texas, in 1844. He was the slave and perhaps son of Bird Holland, who later became Texas secretary of state. Bird Holland freed Milton and his two brothers, James and William H. Holland, and sent them to school in Ohio during the late 1850s.

It is not only The Economist's name that people find baffling. Here are some other common questions.
First, why does it call itself a newspaper? Even when The Economist incorporated the Bankers' Gazette and Railway Monitor from 1845 to 1932, it also described itself as "a political, literary and general newspaper".
It still does so because, in addition to offering analysis and opinion, it tries in each issue to cover the main events—business and political—of the week. It goes to press on Thursdays and, printed simultaneously in six countries, is available in most of the world's main cities the following day or soon after.
My fav newspaper. I read it religiously on work terms.

Wild Nettle Galette, perhaps my favorite dish but for the biscuit. The flavor was great but perhaps a bit to big, setting the balance of the dish just a bit off...
my first 'Underground Dining' experience, a la Wild Kitchen. The chef has foraged at least one of the ingredients in every dish, locally in San Francisco. How cool is that? Joined by my fellow epicure Bryan N.
