47/365 We Will Remember You Borders

Alright, so today, I actually had to wake up early to go to tutoring... blegh. Took the test and had an ok feeling that I did well (more on that later). Anyway, after tutoring, I went home, relaxed, went on the computer, and realized that today was a freeday. So as a result, I decided to send a text to my friend, Laysa, if she wanted to go to the park and shoot some photos and then next thing you know, I'm there. She actually had some cool ideas with an owl and lens flare, but the time wasn't right, sadly. So, as a result, we sat and chatted about Photoshopping, camera terms, and how the summer has been for the both of us. After that, I went back home to drink an ice cold coca-cola, went on the computer, ate California roll, and once my mom came home, we went to Borders.

So as many of you know, Borders filed bankruptcy and went out of business. As a result, they're closing all of their stores and holding major clearances. It's so sad just to see such a great and once thriving bookstore to go out of existence. I mean, I used to go here all of the time when I was at the mall because it was so convenient and the environment was just so amazing. I had so many memories there. Sadly, all of that is going away.

Even still, I originally went there to pick up some books and even with the clearance, it was still cheaper to buy online on Amazon and even Barnes and Noble! How sad is this??? What happened to those days of going to a brick-and-mortar store? Yeah, sure, it's cheaper to buy online, but I still get that wanting to go and buy things at the store rather than buying it online, but seeing the economy, it'd make more sense to buy online.

And yes, I realize that I've bought a Kindle, but still, I still buy physical books for things such as textbooks, study guides, and reference.

So as a result, I wanted to create a collage/"octotych" to just keep these memories. All of these were taken with my iPhone and I couldn't take that many. Didn't want to look sketchy, even though I have a right to take pictures in public places. But yeah, I took all of these into Photoshop, rearranged them, modified the colors, and added the B accents on the sides; probably one of my favorite things about the photo. Makes it look nicer!

Anyway, like I said, it's so sad to see Borders go away. We will all remember you Borders. What was once a go-to-spot is now gone. :(
