NI Affairs Committee visits Northern Ireland Science Park
The Northern Ireland Science Park today welcomed members of the Northern Ireland Affairs Committee from the House of Commons during a fact-finding mission to Belfast.
With particular focus on areas of redevelopment the MPs were briefed on the Science Park’s successes to date and its plans for the future, as it strives to build and foster an innovation ecosystem. Chief Executive of the Northern Ireland Science Park, Norman Apsley, informed the Committee of the Parks intention to play its part in attracting 50 multinational companies and creating over 50,000 new jobs in Northern Ireland by 2030 while encouraging the conception and growth of indigenous start-ups.
During the official visit the MPs also took the opportunity to meet with Science Park tenants to discuss the future of the tech sector and its potential to help drive forward the local economy.
